One day, in Emperor Akbar's court, there was a big problem. Someone had pulled a hair from the emperor's moustache! Everyone in the court was shocked and wanted the culprit to be punished.

The prime minister said the person should be flogged, and the treasury minister said they should be banished from the kingdom. They all wanted the harshest punishment.

But Birbal, the clever advisor, didn't say anything at first.

"Why are you silent, Birbal?" asked Emperor Akbar.

Birbal smiled and said, "Your Majesty, I suggest you give the culprit some sweets."

The court was surprised. "How can we give sweets to someone who dared to pull your moustache?" asked the emperor.

Birbal explained, "Your Majesty, only your grandson would dare to do such a mischievous thing. So, it would be nice to give him sweets instead of punishment."

Everyone in the court laughed and agreed with Birbal's wise idea. They realized that sometimes, problems can be solved with kindness and understanding. And from that day on, they all learned to think before they punished someone.

*Moral - True intelligence lies in finding clever solutions with empathy rather than resorting to harsh punishment.”
